Turn on notifications
After installing SeatDrop, you'll want to allow notifications. This is how SeatDrop tells you when seats open up or tickets go on sale.
Allow notifications when prompted
When you set up your first alert from the installed app on your home screen, SeatDrop will ask for permission to send notifications. Tap Allow. This only happens once. (The prompt only appears in the installed app — not in a regular browser tab.)
If you accidentally blocked notifications
iPhone
- Open Settings → Notifications → SeatDrop
- Toggle Allow Notifications on
Android
- Open Settings → Apps → SeatDrop
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle notifications on
Desktop
Push notifications aren't available on desktop browsers — push is mobile-app only. To set up push, open seatdrop.app on your phone and add it to your Home Screen. If you've already set up push on your phone, you can enter your SeatDrop code (SD-XXXX) on desktop to send alerts to it. Otherwise, use SMS for seat-drop alerts.
Why push notifications are recommended
Push notifications are instant, free, and support higher limits than SMS. See Push vs. SMS for a full comparison. This guide covers initial setup — for troubleshooting missed notifications, see Troubleshooting notifications.
