What is SeatDrop?

SeatDrop monitors movie theatre seats and upcoming ticket releases, sending you an alert the moment seats open up or tickets go on sale. It works with AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, and Alamo Drafthouses across the US.

How it works

Seat monitoring

When someone cancels their ticket or a theatre releases new seats, SeatDrop detects the change and notifies you ASAP. You then book the seats directly on the theatre's website — SeatDrop never handles tickets or payments.

Ticket drops

For upcoming movies that aren't on sale yet, SeatDrop watches for the moment tickets become available at your preferred theatre and alerts you as soon as they drop.

Three ways to use it

The Upgrader — You already have tickets but want better seats. Pick the seats you'd prefer, and SeatDrop alerts you if they open up. Rebook on the theatre's site, then cancel your original tickets (or vice versa).

The Waiter — The showtime you want is sold out, or the good seats are already taken. Set up monitoring and wait. When seats open up, you'll be the first to know.

The Planner — A movie you're excited about isn't on sale yet. Set up a ticket drop alert and SeatDrop will notify you the moment tickets go live at your theatre — so you can grab the best seats before anyone else.

What SeatDrop does not do

  • SeatDrop does not buy or reserve tickets for you
  • SeatDrop does not store payment information
  • SeatDrop does not guarantee seat or ticket availability — it notifies you of changes so you can act quickly
