Group Alerts
Share an alert with friends
After creating an alert, you can share it with friends so they receive notifications too.
How to share
- Create your alert as usual (select seats, choose notification method)
- Go to My Alerts, tap the ⋯ menu on the alert, then Share alert
- You'll see your share code (e.g., ABC234) and a Copy link button
- Send the code or link to your friend via text, chat, or however you prefer
Share several at once
If you're monitoring the same film across a few dates or showtimes, you don't need to send a link for each one. On My Alerts, tap Select on a movie, tick the alerts you want, then tap Share (N).
That produces a single code covering all of them. Unlike a single-alert code, it works more than once — send the same link to as many friends as you like. Whoever taps it joins every alert on it in one go.
Both kinds of link expire 24 hours after you create them.
How your friend joins
Your friend can join in two ways:
- Link: Tap the link you sent — it opens an invite card showing the showtime (or every showtime, if you shared several) and the monitored seats, with a Join this alert button
- Code: Open SeatDrop, go to the My Alerts page, tap Join a friend's alert to expand it, then enter the share code
What happens next
- Each person in the group receives their own notification when seats matching the alert criteria open up
- Everyone can see the shared alert on their My Alerts page
- A friend who joined can remove themselves anytime via the ⋯ menu → Leave alert
Requirements
- Notifications for share alerts require your friend to have SeatDrop installed on their device, with push notifications enabled
